Dr Pip Ross
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Accepting New PatientsPip joined Broadway Medical Centre in November 2025. Born in Aotearoa, she has lived a wonderfully nomadic life across four continents, before settling in Ōtepoti.
Graduating from Otago University in 2017, Pip spent five years at Dunedin Hospital gaining broad experience in critical and acute care, anaesthetics, and ENT. She has a special interest in skin cancer and dermatological care, and is an accredited skin cancer doctor. She also works part-time as an ENT medical officer at Dunedin Hospital. A mum of four, Pip enjoys supporting children and families to achieve positive health outcomes.
Pip is happiest outdoors—preferably on a bike. She is passionate about protecting our beautiful whenua, and volunteers with local pest-control initiatives.

Dr Penny Eames (she/her)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Accepting New PatientsOriginally from the UK, Dr. Penny Eames graduated from the University of Bristol in 1996 and became a GP in 2000. She gained experience in Emergency Medicine in Auckland before returning to the UK, later transitioning back to General Practice in 2008. Alongside clinical work, she developed a passion for medical education, earning teaching qualifications from the University of Bristol.
In 2014, Penny moved permanently to Dunedin with her husband and two children. She has since worked in teaching and pastoral care at Otago Medical School and specialises in Urgent Care as a GP. Outside of medicine, she enjoys time with family, as well as skiing, horses, and dogs.

Dr Jo Quigley (she/her)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Accepting New PatientsJo joined Broadway in 2024, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a passion for patient care. Originally from Manchester, Jo studied medicine in Liverpool, graduating in 2005. She gained valuable experience working in Lancaster and the beautiful Lake District in Cumbria, before emigrating in 2007.
In New Zealand, Jo worked in Waikato and Dunedin Hospitals, focusing on Emergency Medicine, Adult Medicine, and Adult Rehabilitation Medicine. She transitioned to General Practice in 2022, and enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients, and supporting them on their health journeys.
Jo lives with her husband, two young children, dog, and two cats. She loves camping, exploring off-road trails, attempting to grow vegetables, composting, and pursuing a sustainable lifestyle.

Dr Doug Hill (he/him)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Born in Dunedin, Dr Doug Hill spent his early childhood overseas before settling in Auckland. He studied at Auckland Medical School, before returning south, completing his junior doctor years at Dunedin Hospital, with a focus on orthopaedics, gynaecology, and paediatrics.
Doug’s GP career began in rural Palmerston, gaining broad experience in community-based care. In 2002, he joined Broadway Medical Centre, purchasing a share in the practice. He has a strong interest in all aspects of general practice, valuing the variety it brings. His special interests include minor surgery, skin surgery and musculoskeletal injuries.
Doug is a keen sports enthusiast. He enjoys mountain biking, golf, and spending time with his wife, Jennifer, and their four children.

Dr Heidi McMillan (she/her)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Originally from Christchurch, Heidi completed her medical degree at Otago University and Christchurch Clinical School in 1997. Following graduation, she spent a year gaining valuable experience in remote outback hospitals across Australia.
Heidi has a strong interest in family and women’s health. She has a Diploma in Child Health, and spent six months working with Family Planning, furthering her expertise in reproductive care.
Over the years, Heidi has worked in various locations including Auckland, Hamilton, and Christchurch, before settling in Dunedin in 2010 and joining the team at Broadway Medical Centre.
Outside of medicine, Heidi leads an active lifestyle, enjoying spending time with her three boys. She loves the outdoors, especially mountain biking and running.

Dr Maya Macfarlane (she/her)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Maya began her medical studies in Dunedin, before completing her degree in her hometown, Christchurch – graduating in 2001. She has worked all over New Zealand and Australia, gaining broad clinical experience.
Maya has a Diploma in Child Health, and worked across multiple hospital departments, including Women’s Health, Geriatrics, Paediatrics, and Emergency Medicine.
She began working as a GP in Christchurch in 2007, joining the team at Broadway in 2013. Maya was drawn to general practice early by the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.
Maya teaches at the University of Otago Medical School, and is kept busy by her two daughters. She enjoys travel, the outdoors, and winding down with a good book.

Dr Tania Moerenhout (she/her)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Originally from Belgium, Tania completed her medical degree in 2007 and went on to finish her General Practice training in 2009 at the University of Brussels.
Since 2015, she has balanced her work as a GP with academic research and teaching, completing a Master and PhD degree in philosophy with a focus on medical ethics.
Tania moved to New Zealand in 2020 and works part-time at Broadway, alongside her role as a Senior Lecturer in Bioethics at the University of Otago. In her GP role, Tania focuses on providing holistic, person-centred care.
Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Aotearoa with her husband, but also spending some quiet time on the sofa with her cat, Po.

Dr Jet Quennell (she/her)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Jet (or Janette) joined Broadway Medical Centre in February 2022. She brings a warm, compassionate approach to her work, with particular interests in sexual health, managing skin conditions and minor surgery procedures.
Jet is a Dunedin local, growing up mainly in Sunnyvale. She graduated from Otago University in 2017, following an earlier career as a Health Science Researcher in Neuroendocrinology, focusing on the complex relationship between hormones and the brain.
Jet lives centrally with her teenage son and two very naughty dogs! She is a regular at the Otago Bridge Club, loves watching cricket, doing puzzles and hunting for treasures in second-hand stores — a true fan of all things pre-loved.

Dr Guy Austin (he/him)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Dr Guy Austin first joined Broadway Medical Centre in 2022 as a PGY3 (Postgraduate Year 3) doctor and returned in March 2023 to take up a full-time role as a General Practitioner.
Guy completed his medical training at the University of Otago, graduating in 2019, and has undertaken additional training in skin care management. He also has an interest in acute medicine and men's health.
Outside of Broadway, Guy is a Teacher at the Otago Medical School and a Doctor at the Dunedin Urgent Doctors and Accident Centre. He also enjoys trail-running in his spare time.

Dr Neil Bungard (he/him)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Neil is proudly Southern born and bred. He graduated from the University of Otago in 1986 and completed postgraduate training in Auckland, specialising in Community Accident and Medical care.
With 35+ years of experience in general practice, Neil has dedicated much of his career to rural medicine, including eight years serving the Alexandra community. He subsequently moved to Taieri Beach and now proudly calls Dunedin home.
Outside of his professional commitments, Neil pursues interests such as fishing, bush walking, DIY renovations and landscaping, learning piano, computer gaming, and small-batch brewing.

Dr Jaya Sharma (she/her)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Jaya joined Broadway in February 2024. Born and raised in New Zealand, she pursued her medical education at the University of Adelaide in Australia, graduating in 2018.
Since then, Jaya has gained diverse experience working across various healthcare settings in both New Zealand and Australia. Her journey has included research, teaching, and completing a diploma in Ophthalmology.
Her special interests lie within the broad spectrum of general practice, where she finds fulfilment in addressing the diverse healthcare needs of her patients.
Outside of medicine, Jaya is an avid netball player, dancer, and pianist, and values opportunities to travel and explore new cultures.

Dr Claire Field (she/her)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Dr Claire Field started at Broadway in March 2025.
She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2013 and spent many years working in hospital medicine, particularly in acute specialties. In 2022, she transitioned to general practice, where she enjoys providing holistic care to patients of all ages, with a strong focus on both physical and mental health.
Originally from Scotland, Claire moved to New Zealand in 2018 and is proud to now call Aotearoa home.
Outside of work, Claire enjoys music, coffee, travelling, and walking along Dunedin’s beautiful coastline. She also loves spending quality time with her family.

Dr Susie Lawless (she/her)
GYNAE HEALTH SPECIALIST
Dr. Susie Lawless offers specialised gynae health services at Broadway, exclusively for our patients. She holds regular clinics on Thursdays and provides a range of procedures, including insertions, replacements, and biopsies.

Dr Lucia Magee (she/her)
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
On parental leaveLucia completed her medical training at the University of Manchester in the UK in 2012. She first moved to Dunedin in 2014, and fell in love with the community and outdoor lifestyle.
After returning to the UK, Lucia undertook postgraduate training, achieving Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, 2017) and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP, 2021). During this time, she also worked in health policy, academic research, and medical education in London.
Lucia has a strong interest in lifestyle medicine, using its principles in her GP practice to support patients in optimising their overall health and wellbeing.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys being outdoors — especially walking, cycling, swimming, and yoga.
